The reservations can be made online at least 2 days before your arrival and maximum 7 months beforehand. Online you have also a chance to choose the site (the best ones are considered those located closer to the river bank, and having stunning views). If you plan your trip for summer months make sure you are booking a campsite long in advance as this place is incredibly popular among the tourists and in summer is overfilled. Driving Directions: The campground entrance from US Highway 199 can be found about 9 miles from Crescent City. The entrance will be located on the right-side of the road. If you are traveling from north on US Highway 199, drive about 1 mile after passing a small town of Hiouchi. The entrance will be on the left side. Jedediah Smith Campground is a 1. 9 kilometer moderately trafficked loop trail located near Crescent City, California that features a river and is good for all skill levels. The trail is primarily used for hiking, walking, camping, and nature trips and is accessible year-round. Dogs are also able to use this trail. Great way to explore the terrain of the campgrounds so you make sense of the geography. Also used it as a good morning stretch, jog-able too. Had a wonderful time camping and hiking the area- full of wildlife in this bear country and stunning blue waters to match- I advise a trip to anyone! Really nice walk, great for a campground trail Lovely walk around the campground We flew in from out of town and camped out here and I highly recommend it.

Jedediah Smith Redwoods State Park Overview Jedediah Smith Redwoods State Park campground has 106 beautiful campsites along the Smith River and set among towering redwood trees. There are also 4 cabins, 5 hike/bike sites (for walk-in or bikers only) and group camping available. Campsites can accommodate tents, trailers up to 21 feet and RVs up to 25 feet. Each campsite also has a table, fire ring, grate and food storage locker. Check in time is 2pm and check out is 12pm. Generators may be operated between 10am and 8pm. The campground has a campfire center, drinking water, flush toilets, hot showers ($) and an RV dump station. The Park also has a visitor center, boat ramp and miles of hiking trails. Jedediah Smith Redwoods State Park – Area Recreation Named after the explorer, Jedediah Smith State Park includes 10, 000 acres of predominately old growth coastal Redwoods. The Smith River also flows throw the Park which is a World Heritage Site and Biosphere Reserve. The Park is home to a wide variety of wildlife and visitors can enjoy canoeing, kayaking, fishing, biking, hiking, horseback riding and swimming.
